So Jon and I have been back in the States for about 3 months now. And what have we done? Well, quite a bit.
For starters, we (miraculously) successfully moved ourselves down south. HUZZAH! After applying for jobs for just about a week, my incredible husband received FOUR job offers.
I know. I married a baller.
After weighing the pros and cons of each, he went with the one he knew he loved all along – working as a structural engineer at Speight, Marshall, and Francis.
The catch?
SMF hired Jon to work in their Richmond office (HOORAY!!) but wanted to train him at their Virginia Beach office. For anywhere from 6 months to a year.
Ruh roh.
The thing is, it took Jon about 3 seconds to realize that this was the right opportunity for him. That said, it does put a bit of a strain on his wife (read: me) to live a place where we know no one for half a year. Regardless, we knew it was the best decision for us at this moment in time and so we uprooted our northern lives and two kitties to…the beach!
We’ve now been in VA Beach for about a month. During that time, Jon has been working his patootie off while I’ve been working on FOJ, including learning the ins and outs of my new camera:
…and putting the finishing touches on my new website!
Sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through the trees, but we’re taking things one day at a time and looking forward to our upcoming adventures in Richmond.
