There’s nothing better than meeting clients for the first time and realizing crazy quick both:
1. How awesome they are; and
2. How fabulous it is to want to be friends with your clients.
Meeting Chelsea and Jarred was honestly like meeting old friends for drinks. These two are relaxed, fun, and SO obviously enjoy spending time together!
For their engagement session, we ventured to the Jones Landing Boat Club, located on the James River, south of Richmond. The Boat Club is an adorable strip of land located directly on the James where boaters, kayakers, fishermen (and fisherwomen!) can dock their boats. Jarred, an avid fisherman, docks his fishing boat and kayak at the Club, making it both a picturesque AND personal spot for their perfect session!
After spending some time at the Boat Club, we headed ONTO the water, out on the rocks in Forest Hill Park! Being new to the area, I am always looking for established locals to “show me the ropes” of some of Richmond’s “hidden” (to me!) gems. I couldn’t have asked for better guides than Chelsea and Jarred, who took us out onto the rocks to catch a stunning sunset over the James River (and helped ensure my photography equipment was safe as I clumsily climbed along the rocks :-p)!
Chelsea and Jarred, I absolutely cannot wait for your intimate wedding ceremony in September – although here’s hoping I see you both before then!!

When I showed Chelsea this picture on the back of my camera she said, “Wow – that’s what I look like?? You made me look good!” To which, without skipping a beat, Jarred responded, “That’s what you look like to me every day.” Swoon <3.
