There are few things in this world I love more than my alma mater.
Is that weird to say??
I consider myself among the lucky ones to be able to say that I graduated from The College of William and Mary. Located in Williamsburg, Virginia, WM is not only the second oldest college in the US, it consistently ranks as one of the top colleges in the nation, as well as absolutely, breathtakingly gorgeous (although I may be biased…).
In all honesty, the biggest reason I love William and Mary is the community. William and Mary is FILLED with TWAMPS (that’s “Typical William And Mary People”) who exude warmth, authenticity, positivity, and a general aura of awesomeness. William and Mary instills in its students and alumni pride in having attended an institution that embodies and encourages heart, spirit, acceptance, and love. It is truly the best gosh darn community you could ever hope to spend the four most formative years of your life with.
And I could not be happier to be a member of the Tribe.
This past weekend I had the pleasure and privilege of attending William and Mary’s 2016 Homecoming. And what’s more, I had the absolute joy of attending the Novogratz Green & Gold School Tailgate. AKA THE BEST tailgate that exists in all the land – food, beer, live music, face painting, balloon animals, popcorn and cotton candy machines, bouncy castles, cornhole, jello shots, t-shirts and mugs, a photobooth, a “William and Bloody Mary” bar, an ice cream truck, and the chance to hang out with several hundred new friends all looking to have a great time reminiscing and continuing to strengthen the incredible community we are all so fortunate to be a part of.
WHO COULD ASK FOR MORE????
The entire event is courtesy of the incomparable John and Tina Novogratz, along with several other families who work together to create an unforgettable experience. All I can say is, MAN do they know how to throw a party!! Thank you once again for throwing Das Tailgate, AKA the best party in all the land.
I had a blast photographing this year’s tailgate and can’t wait til next year! Here’s just a sample of some of my favorites from this weekend. Feel free to check out the full gallery here!
