A few months ago I was contacted by Brian and Fabiola, a super-duper sweet couple from Northern Virginia, about a maternity session. We met in Richmond one afternoon so that I could learn a bit more about them as a couple, the sweet little one they were waiting on, and about how their pregnancy was progressing so far.
After a little while they mentioned that were THRILLED to be waiting on the arrival of a baby girl after some struggles conceiving. Yet (so so so happily!) here they were, many months pregnant, and not being able to contain their excitement over the soon-to-be arrival of their little one! Not only that, but they had quite a few goodies they were excited to use as props during their maternity session to showcase their little one’s journey :).
Faby and Brian both exuded so much love and joy at the prospect of Baby Girl’s arrival I absolutely could not wait to spend another day with them, this time behind the lens of my camera! Having some good friends in the area, they had been to visit Richmond several times and were excited about having the opportunity to photograph in Maymont Park.
Maymont is an absolutely GORGEOUS park situated just a few blocks south of Richmond, just north of the James River. The park itself is actually a formerly private estate that was donated to the City of Richmond in 1925. Comprised of over 100 acres, the park consists of the original Mansion of the Dooley family (the donors), Italian gardens, Japanese gardens, and an arboretum, as well as hundreds of animals who call its nature center, wildlife exhibits, and the Maymont Farm their home!
Fabiola, Brian, and I had a beautiful summer afternoon to spend in the Italian Gardens and were thrilled to take advantage of the sunshine and gorgeous flowers!
After our session, I waited with bated breath until receiving Faby’s email – it turns out that Baby Girl K could NOT wait to meet her parents either and decided she didn’t want to be an August baby! Ms. Emely Veronica had arrived a full TWO WEEKS early, happy and healthy!
Beyond thrilled, I made my way to Northern Virginia to photograph Ms. Emely’s in-home newborn session with Faby, Brian, Emely, and Faby’s parents who were luckily visiting from out of town at just the right time!
Dearest adorable K family, I already miss you all tremendously and am BEYOND excited for this new journey that you are on together. Wishing you SO MUCH happiness, many hugs and kisses, and happy, healthy, dreamy baby snuggles. I hope to see you all again very soon <3.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
