Since moving to Virginia Beach a few months ago, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know some of the most fantastic people – including my new friend, Rachel!
Rachel and I met via Bumble BFF. And before you say anything…yes, Bumble is a dating app. But the app has a separate feature that will connect you to people in your area looking for new friends – perfect for a recent transplant like me :).
It has been fabulous getting to know Rachel and her now, fiance, Jason. I was thrilled when she told me about their incredible engagement at the Grand Canyon(!) and even more stoked when she asked me to take their engagement pictures in downtown Norfolk this past weekend. They took me to a fabulous part of the city I had never been to before – and which gave us amazing access to the waterfront, parks, cobblestone streets, and beautiful architecture – what more could you want for picture-perfect portraits (besides an adorably in love couple!)??

Apparently Mermaids represent the city of Norfolk – thanks for the tip, R&J!

Looking good kids 😉

This is ABSOLUTELY my new favorite photo spot!

How adorable are they???
I had such an amazing time capturing Rachel and Jason’s love and WISH that I could be there to photograph their incredible wedding in April.
On a mountain top.
In New Zealand.
Which they will arrive at via helicopter.
I mean COME ON. Could it possibly get any more fairy tale than that???
But I suppose I’ll let them go on their wedding trip/honeymoon without me :-p

Enjoying the water and a little bit of the setting sun…
It was so wonderful hanging out with you both and getting to be a part of your wedding preparations. I’m so happy for the two of you and wishing you a lifetime of happiness and joy :).
