Last week I received an email through my website from a friend of a friend, Sarah, inquiring about maternity photos. YAY for babies!
My wonderful friend, Katelyn, had told me that Sarah was interested in a maternity session, but that she wasn’t due until the end of January, so I should sit tight until she contacted me. When Sarah asked about my availability, I told her it would depend not just on my availability, but also on how much she was showing, as most maternity photo shoots are done between 30-35 weeks of pregnancy. Well that’s all fine and dandy…except when you’re expecting twin baby girls!
Sarah responded that she was free in just a few days time…and then sent me a picture of her belly. And ladies and gents…she – and Babies A & B – were definitely ready for their close-up!
I drove to Roanoke this past weekend for their session and it could NOT have been more beautiful up in the mountains (albeit a little chilly!) Sarah and her husband, Jay, were excited to bring me to a gorgeous spot nestled among the hills – a Christmas tree farm that Jay’s father used to own. Sarah and Jay had been photographed for their engagement session on the farm and were so happy to be able to return to take pictures with their soon-to-be little ones :).
…aaaaannddd of course we had just a little bit of fun along the way… 😀

Who doesn’t love donuts??!

Two flowers for two babies <3

Seriously stunning.
Sarah and Jay, thank you so much for reaching out! I had a blast photographing you both in the gorgeous setting sun among the evergreens in Floyd. Looking forward to meeting your little girls in January!
