The Best Thanksgiving
Katie and Alex met at William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia where they both attended college (woo hoo fellow Tribe alums!) Alex was on the football team and Katie was on the gymnastics team. You could say they just *fit*. Last Thanksgiving, after moving from New York down to Northern Virginia, these two headed down the coast to North Carolina to celebrate the holiday with Katie’s family. The day after Thanksgiving the family was gathered together playing a game where you have to describe a person. Alex gushed on about Katie before getting down on one knee and popping the question in front of her entire family!
The Engagement Session
Katie and Alex decided that Richmond was a great spot for their engagement session and picked the gorgeous Tuckahoe Plantation to celebrate this beautiful time in their lives! The Plantation happened to fit in just perfectly with these sweethearts’ love of all things William and Mary. After all, Tuckahoe Plantation is the childhood home of Thomas Jefferson, one of our most famous alums!
When I arrived at Tuckahoe I was thrilled to see these two! You see, we didn’t attend WM at the same time and never met during college. But Katie actually moved to my hometown on Long Island in New York after graduating and we met there! About 3 years ago, Alex was visiting and I invited them over for our Halloween party so we could meet and get to know one another (although we moved to VA shortly after that.) Fortunately, Katie remembered I’m a wedding photographer and got in touch so that I could photograph their big day – and I could not be more thrilled – HOORAY!
These two ABSOLUTELY came ready for their session:
- Spot-on outfit selections – check!
- Sweetest smiles – check!
- Arsenal of poses – DOUBLE CHECK!
- Most adorable humans – check!
Katie and Alex made my job SO EASY – every glance, touch, kiss, nuzzle, embrace – it was all absolute perfection. All real. All them.
You are simply the CUTEST and I cannot wait to head to Williamsburg next spring to celebrate your love!
