A few weeks ago I was contacted by a friend of my brother’s, Katie, about doing a gender reveal session with her and her husband, Dan at Libby Hill Park in Richmond, VA. At the time, Katie was several months pregnant with their first child, but they had yet to find out what they would be having. How exciting!!
Katie and Dan were eager to find out the sex of the baby…but also wanted to be surprised themselves along with family and friends.
So! How to take gender reveal photos without anyone present knowing the gender of the baby???
Time to get creative!
Katie and Dan decided that they wanted to use balloons to share with the world if they would be having a boy or girl. We decided the best way to go about it would be to take photos with white balloons and then I would later, through the magic of Adobe Photoshop, create either pink or blue balloons!
But there was a catch…
Katie wasn’t quite convinced she would be able to keep the SUPER GIANT secret once they had discovered what they were having. So to keep the suspense, we took the photos with white balloons and then I turned all of their chosen images both pink AND blue…just to cover our bases!
